11. Massage Therapies

In response to massage, specific physiological and chemical changes cascade throughout the body with profound effects.

The lymphatic system is a vital bodily defense against infection and disease. Many don't realize that minor aches and pains, low energy or susceptibility to cold and flu may be due to a sluggish lymph system.

The lymph system is part of our body's immune system.
Lymph helps fight infection and acts as a toxin filter.
Unlike blood which is pumped around our body by the heart, the lymph has no pump.

Lymph itself is a clear, slightly yellow fluid which flows easily through the body. It transports nutrients and oxygen to cells, collecting toxins on the way and then flushing them out.

Lymphatic drainage is a VERY LIGHT massage that encourages lymph system, which is located directly beneath the skin, to flow in the body. The therapist stimulates it with "EXTREMELY GENTLE" circular pumping movements, starting from the face then arms legs and back.

Lymph is the key to keeping our immune system working properly. Reduces the chance of suffering from minor colds and viruses, helps reduce water retention and cellulite, boost weight loss, improve skin texture, spider vein, scar tissue...

MEDICAL BODY MASSAGE (Wat Po and Swedish techniques)

Helpful not only to stimulate the circulation of blood and lymphatic system, but also to improve the body's immunity for anti-aging and longevity.

Wat Po massage alternates smooth movements and application of deeper pressure along the meridians on the surface of the muscles.

The happiness and wellness from receiving this massage stimulates the build up of endorphin hormones which promotes a better psycho-immunology system.

Swedish massage uses five stokes which are: EFFLEURAGE (sliding or gliding), PETRISSAGE (kneading), FRICTION (cross fiber), VIBRATION (shaking), TAPOTEMENT (rhythmic tapping).

Exceptionally beneficial for increasing the level of oxygen in the blood, decreasing muscle toxins, improving circulation, relaxing the entire body.
Good after any sport for muscle tightness and pain, and for depression, blood and lymphatic circulation...

The combination of both massages improves sleep, increase breathing capacity, reduces constipation, relieves back pain, makes the muscles more supple and elastic, improves skin health...
